Washington D.C.

Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing some pictures from Will and I's mini-vacation to Washington D.C.  We had been talking about going to visit his brother, Larkin, for quite some time and we figured Memorial Day weekend would be the perfect long weekend.  So thankful I was allotted four days off work in a row to make it happen.  While we were there, I also took over Maude Boutique's instagram (@shopmaude) in honor of the national holiday.  It was my first trip to the city, and I was super excited to bring my favorite boutique/old workplace along for the ride.

The first day was spent doing the "tourist" thing.  We went on a three-hour Capital Segway tour of the city and it was so much fun.  I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a fun and fast way to see all of the monuments and rest of the downtown area.   For more details, here is the company's website.  I was a little nervous at first, not gonna lie.  But when I got on the Segway, I caught on pretty fast and was buzzin' around all over the place.  That night, Larkin treated us to dinner at his favorite sushi spot, Sushi Rock and then we went out in the lively Chinatown district with some of his friends.

On day two, we spent time in Georgetown, which was filled with charming colorful town homes, a gorgeous boardwalk, and every store you can think of.  The streets were so beautiful and full of people out and about, enjoying the beautiful weather.  We ate lunch at a restaurant that looked out on the Potomac River, then did a little window shopping.

We also stopped by Olivia Macaron, where I tried my very first macaron (Macarons are hard to come by in Arkansas.) Now I have another sweet dessert to crave.  For dinner, Will and I walked from his brother's house to Liberty Tavern, a wood-oven pizza place in Clarendon.

On the last day, we went golfing in Virginia and then out for a yummy Mexican restaurant, where pictures of George Bush dining there were shown in the entrance.  It was so nice that we got to spend  quality time with Will's brother and see what his day to day life is like out on the East Coast.
